Privacy Notice

TRJFP Brum take the issue of data protection very seriously.

We would never, ever share your personal data with any other organisations.

In some cases we calculate the number of people using our services to report back to our donors, but this data is always anonymised and is just presented as a pure number of attendees, nothing more.

If you have signed up to our blog, you will receive a message whenever anything is posted on our ‘News‘ page. If you no longer wish to receive this, you can ‘unsubscribe’ at any time by clicking on the link in the email and you will be removed from the mailing list.

We collect some data on who uses our services in order to manage them efficiently – for example, if you visit our Sharehouse or boutiques, you’ll be asked to give your name (so we can refer to you by name, should we need to), and your postcode (so we know how far people are travelling, and where the greatest demand is). This information is never shared outside of the project, and is destroyed after a few months.

If you collect a Freegan Box, we will need a record of your name (so we know who to give the box to), your email address (so we can contact you about your box), your address (so we know how far people are travelling, and where the greatest demand is), your phone number (in case we need to contact you urgently), and each week we will ask you to record how much you are donating for your box (if you choose to donate cash) so there is transparency and accountability in terms of cash donations. This data is kept for a maximum of 3 months after the date of last use and then destroyed.

If you volunteer for us, we will need a record of your name, your email address (so we can contact you with any information), your address (so we know where people are travelling from), your phone number (in case we need to contact you urgently), and a next of kin contact (in case of emergency). We also ask for information about health needs (just in case any adjustments need to be made) and criminal convictions (people in positions of responsibility are required to have a DBS check). If you stop volunteering for us, these details are deleted after 6 months.

If you have any queries about any of this, please contact us.
