Originally established in 2014 as The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham, we intercept food and other usable materials that would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets, restaurants and other sources, and provide them to individuals and community organisations on a “Pay-As-You-Feel” basis.

Community
As well as supporting individuals, we work closely with other organisations to distribute surplus to wherever it is needed.
Grow
We have a number of sites across Birmingham where we grow fruit and vegetables and compost our waste.
Successes
Since 2014, we have redistributed over 1800 tonnes of waste food, cooked and served over 36,000 meals, helped 100 people achieve a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and seen dozens of volunteers move on into paid employment.
Support
It was just a small personal touch that made you feel welcome and on the occasions where I was on a tiny budget, it also felt like somebody did care that times were tough.
